Luxe Box December 2011 Review

Delivery packaging:
It comes in a brown cardboard delivery box, with a flip open lid that has its website and brand "Loose Button" on it. The delivery method used is CanadaPost, with tracking. Packaging for it is quite secure because the sticker mailing label is attached over the opening, making it difficult to open or if opened, obviously noticeable. Security of the packaging for Luxe Box is much better than Topbox packaging, where the item could be tampered with, undetected.

Packaging itself:
Inside the delivery box was another box. It's a black slide open box with Luxe Box brand and logo. It is a very cute, sophisticated and sleek box, all rolled into one!

Inside packaging:
Items come wrapped in white tissue paper with a round silver sticker securing the surprise inside. The round sticker reads "Made for (name)". It gives a very personal customized feel to the whole box. I really like this little extra touch Luxe Box took in taking the time to make you feel special like the box was made especially with you in mind.

Items inside the box:
  1. Luxe Box card: includes a message from Luxe Box to subscriber
  2. Luxe Box Holiday Edition card: lists and gives a description of all products included
  3. Luxe Box featured product card: congratulatory card for having the special opportunity to try & give feedback for DDF Advanced Firming Cream
  4. DDF (Doctors Dermatologic Formula) - Advanced Firming Cream (full size 48g retail $130.00) - 14g / 0.5oz. SAMPLE
  5. China Glaze - X-Mas Nail Polish (full size 14ml / .5 fl. oz. retail $8.00) - *FULL SIZE*
  6. Kerastase - Elixir Ultime (full size 125ml retail $50.00) - 5ml / 0.16 fl. oz. SAMPLE
  7. Nina Ricci - Nina (full size 50ml retail $65.00) - 1.2ml / 0.04 fl. oz. SAMPLE
  8. Nina Ricci - L'Air Du Temps (full size 50ml retail $72.00) - 1.2 ml / 0.04 fl. oz. SAMPLE
  9. Loose Button - limited edition chocolate coin made from imported Belgian chocolate (priceless)

Ending box packaging:
The bottom of the box is filled with light blue crinkled paper strips. After emptying the box, you can see that the bottom of the box is white but the interior sides of the box is black lined all over with their white button logo. What a nice way to end a box. Super cute!

Overall Impressions:
I'm pretty happy with my first delivery from Luxe Box. Speed of delivery was pretty good. It came in only a couple days after the arrival of Topbox. I'm also pretty excited with Luxe Box because this month they had started a program called "First in Line", which actually lets you reserve one product in your Luxe Box. It was a choice between 2 products, the DDF Advanced Firming Cream OR the Kerastase Elixir Ultime, where quantity is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can only reserve one, where if you try to reserve both, only one is counted. Or, if you do not reserve, you are just opting out of the guarantee. Either way, there's a chance that you still get one or both product, depending on how well the samples are suited to your profile. Luckily for me though, I was able to receive both products. Woohoo!

With the December 2011 Luxe Box samples itself, I was happy with the products. Although the DDF Advanced Firming Cream wasn't really relevant to my beauty needs, the sample size that's included is quite substantial and as per the Luxe Box featured product card, worth $41.00, so that definitely pays for the December box itself and than some. As well, I LOVE nail polishes. To have any full size nail polish in a box, even if i own it already, will always make me happy. Having it made by China Glaze was just a bonus. The only down side was the perfume samples. The perfumes themselves are fine. It's just the quantity inside of it which disappoints a bit. The "Nina" vial was 2/3 full, whereas the "L'Air Du Temps" was only half full. Is that the norm? Other than that, everything else is great and I especially like the special touch of Luxe Box including the chocolate coin! Really, it's the thought that counts and it sure helps that it's cute and yummy!
