Luxe Box February 2012 Review

Delivery packaging:
In comparison to last month's delivery issue, for the month of February, Luxe Box have redeemed themselves since their shipping was super fast. Got notification one day, and it arrives the next. Luxe Box actually arrived on the exact same day as the TopBox did and that's saying quite a bit considering the fact that from all the sample beauty box subscriptions, TopBox has always been the first to arrive. As usual, it still comes in a brown cardboard delivery box, with a flip open lid that has its website and brand "Loose Button" on it. The delivery method used has returned to the norm of CanadaPost, with tracking instead of the Express shipping that they used due to shipping delays.

Packaging itself:
The box contained in the delivery box was quite a surprise this month! It has changed from what we've come to expect from Luxe Box, with their black and white box. It has been redesigned for the month of February and Valentine's and for partnering up with FLARE magazine to create this limited edition FLARE Luxe Box by making it RED. It's still the usual slide open box with the Luxe Box brand and logo on it. The difference is just that instead of the box being black with white writing, it is now red with white writing. As well, there is the FLARE name on one side of the box while the side opposite to it reads Luxe Box Limited Edition. The box does still contain tissue and personalized sticker, though the tissue for this box is white with the FLARE brand in grey printing all over it, with the sticker being black in colour.

Items inside the box:
  1. Luxe Box FLARE edition tri-fold card: lists and gives description of all products included, with photo and Luxe Tip accompanying each product
  2. FLARE subscription card: advertises the magazine and gives subscription sign up information
  3. Luxe Box <3 FLARE card: includes a message from Luxe Box by Loose Button and Editor-in-Chief of FLARE Magazine to subscriber
  4. Mereadesso card: information on how to participate in the Mereadessol referral giveaway contest

Ending box packaging:
The bottom of the box is filled with black crinkled paper strips. Everything was wrapped in the white tissue paper with FLARE all over it. Upon emptying the Luxe Box, you see that the whole box is the FLARE limited edition red, though the Loose Botton white logo is printed along the inner sides. It's a nice black, white and red theme going on.

Overall thoughts:
Pretty cool concept on partnering up and redesigning the February Luxe Box. It could be just me though since I love all things limited edition. It's nice for a change though since it livens things up and makes FLARE magazine more part of the process and customized for them as well. Although this box doesn't have as much quantity wise as the January 2012 Luxe Box did, the products are pretty good. I wonder what's going to happen to the concepts of the MyScent program and Bath and Body box that was included with the January box...Oh well, I guess we'll find out in good time.

For this February 2012 Luxe Box, I do like the included products. All the brands included this time are pretty well known to most people, with the exception of Mereadesso perhaps. Although I have heard of the brand, since it's not as readily available in stores, I don't think it's as well known as the other brands included in the box. The Redken shampoo and conditioner sample were awesome in the sense that what we normally receive is just one of the sample packets. With Luxe Box providing 3 of the samples, it allows us a better chance to really see how effective the product can be. The only thing about it that I was a tiny bit disappointed in was that I know it wasn't customized to me specifically since it's for color-treated hair and I don't colour my hair which I had let them know in my beauty profile. Not a big deal, still usable. Any nail polish with me is always a plus and although I have received a China Glaze nail polish from Luxe Box previously (December 2011 Luxe Box), at least it's a different colour that was included. Too bad it wasn't another nail polish brand. Having purchased China Glaze regularly and being given China Glaze before by Luxe Box, I already know that the brand is a winner. Wouldn't mind experimenting a bit or trying different brands. At least it's a pretty colour with glitter =) Of course, who could forget Moroccanoil? I love the smell. So delicious! I know that Moroccanoil products have been given in previous Luxe Boxes. Glad that I finally got the chance to receive it in my box as well. Overall, quite happy with this February Luxe Box. The products are nice and I think the red box makes it a bit more festive =)
