Topbox March 2012 Review

Delivery packaging:
Topbox is still the first of the monthly sample beauty box subscriptions to arrive this month!  CanadaPost with tracking, is still the delivery method they use.  The Topbox cylinder tube arrives wrapped up in brown packaging paper, although it's not as pretty as usual because the delivery sticker covers part of the branding so you can't see the full Topbox name this time.

Packaging itself:
The signature Topbox cylinder tube is wrapped up within the brown delivery packaging. Still the same look and feel as usual. Only difference this time is that right when the white lid is opened, on top of the purple tissue stuffing is a small square card providing a message in regards to it being half a year and to thank you, an additional bonus sample has been included. (Unsure if this half a year is specific to how long i've subscribed to Topbox or if they're referring to half a year in general to everybody?)

Items inside the box:
  1. Topbox card: lists and gives description of all products included, as well as a beauty tip from Pari Beauty
  2. Make Up For Ever - Sens'Eyes Waterproof Sensitive Eye Cleanser (full size 100ml retail: $28.00) - 25ml / 0.84 fl. oz. SAMPLE

Overall thoughts:

The good thing about the March 2012 Topbox was that there was a mixture of makeup, nail polish, hair and skin care products. Other than that though, there was not much that made this month's box stand out and super special in any way.

Although this month's Topbox did include 2 full size products, it didn't seem as great as the 2 full size products from last month's (February 2012) Topbox. It could be due to last month's full size products being from 2 different brands or maybe it's just that the mark brand isn't really known as a premium or luxurious brand, resulting in the value of this box not being as great as last month. Don't get me wrong, the mark brand itself is great and of good quality. It's just that it is quite an affordable brand and not the premium and top brand that I would've expected in a beauty sample box. The mini nail polish set included is very cute though and like I've said in previous posts, nail polish in the boxes always makes me happy =)

The Redken shampoo and conditioner wasn't the greatest for me. Again, I do like the Redken brand. The issue is that I had just received Redken shampoo and conditioner samples in my February 2012 Luxe Box, where they had included 3 packets of samples compared to the 2 packets of samples from this March 2012 Topbox. As well, even though the Topbox is customized, the Redken samples included is for colour-treated hair, which I do not have. I understand that not all products are customized and normally it's maybe only one product that is personalized to your colour, such as the mark Gloss Gorgeous Stay On Lip Stain, but sometimes the general samples aren't always so relevant to everyone's needs.

I have never heard of the Simple brand, but cleansing facial wipes are always practical and the sample that Topbox included is a good package to have on the go or travel with. Finally, the MUFE Sens'Eyes is ok. I'm a bit lazy when it comes to eye makeup removers, I usually just use the facial cleansing wipes to remove the makeup (which I know isn't the greatest), but we'll see if it makes a big difference since Make Up For Ever's products is known for it's quality.

While this March 2012 Topbox is nice and met expectation, did it get me super excited? Unfortunately, not so much.
