GlossyBox Canada April 2012 Review

GlossyBox Canada April 2012 has finally arrived! For April, both GlossyBox and Luxe Box had arrived at the same time. Unfortunately, this is NOT a something to brag about. Both of these boxes arrived on the LAST day of the month, barely making it a April box any longer. With last month's (March 2012) GlossyBox also having arriving very late at the end of the month, I wonder if this is late delivery is going to happen consistently? Whereas last month GlossyBox had kept subscribers up-to-date in regards to the delivery situation and had offered 250 GlossyDots as an apology and token of appreciation and loyalty, for this month, no such offer was made. As usual, the method of delivery used was CanadaPost. Though surprisingly, unlike last month's GlossyBox, no shipping email or tracking was sent to me informing me of its delivery. Good news is that the delivery box is still lovely, with pastel pink GlossyBox logos all over the  dark chocolate brown rectangular cardboard box. I still do love opening the delivery box and seeing the smooth pale pink box with black GlossyBox logo in the centre of the top lid, just waiting to be opened.

Items inside the box:
  1. GlossyBox card: one side has a welcome message, while the other side gives a description of all products included in the box
  2. Wella pamphlet: provides product line information
  3. Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer (full size 120ml retail: $22.99) - *FULL SIZE*
  4. Elizabeth Grant - Skin Care Shower Gel (full size 240ml / 8.1 fl. oz. retail: $20.00) - *FULL SIZE*
  5. Wella - Brilliance Conditioner (full size 250ml retail: $13.99) - 30ml / 1 fl. oz. SAMPLE
  6. Wella - Brilliance Treatment (full size 150ml retail: $13.99) - 25ml / 0.84 fl. oz. SAMPLE
  7. Marcelle - BB Cream Beauty Balm (full size 45ml retail: $22.95) - SAMPLE *Bonus*
  8. Marcelle - Xtension Plus Mascara (full size 9ml retail: $12.50) - *FULL SIZE* Missing from my GlossyBox
  9. (On the GlossyBox product list, this item was to be included in my box but it was nowhere to be found. MISSING!!!)

    GlossyBox card
    Wella pamphlet

    Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer

Elizabeth Grant Skin Care Shower Gel (scent name = Island Coconut)
(Please Note: As per the 2nd photo below, while the seal underneath the cap states "SEALED FOR YOUR PROTECTION", this shower gel bottle had arrived EXACTLY as shown in the photo. It was NOT sealed)

Wella Brilliance Conditioner (hair type = Fine to Normal)

Wella Brilliance Treatment (hair type = Fine to Normal)

Marcelle BB Cream Beauty Balm (colour type = Light to Medium)

    Ending box packaging:
GlossyBox Canada April 2012 ends with a box filled with black crinkled paper strips, black matte tissue paper and the use of a pretty blush pink ribbon to tie everything together. Hidden underneath all that is a pretty pastel pink box on the outside, while the inside is black with pink GlossyBox logos printed all over.

Overall thoughts: do I feel about this GlossyBox Canada April 2012 edition? To be totally honest, I must admit that I'm a bit upset and quite disappointed with it. Not with the box itself per se, but with the culmination of everything that makes up the box. Firstly, there is the issue of late delivery. Second, one of the "supposedly" sealed item included in the box was not really sealed. Last, but not least, one of the items that should have been included was actually MISSING! As well, in comparison to other sample beauty box companies that I have contacted in the past (ie. Topbox, Luxe Box), their response has always been super speedy. I had emailed GlossyBox right away in regards to my missing item (I've decided I'll cut them some slack on the late delivery and unsealed item) and while I had received confirmation that my email went through, still waiting on a response from them. I know it's just my own bad luck that I've received this box. I absolutely understand that GlossyBox has tons of orders to fill and that mistakes do happen, where things can get overlooked. I'll just have to wait and see how they will respond, if they respond of course.  If everything had gone smoothly, I'd have given this box an A. Depending on what actions GlossyBox takes, I'll readjust my rating accordingly. As it stands right now for this April 2012 GlossyBox, for an overall rating, I have to say I find myself less than satisfied.

    Rating: C
