GlossyBox Canada May 2012 Review

Delivery packaging:
This GlossyBox Canada May 2012 was the last of the May beauty sample box subscriptions to arrive. It came in on exactly the last day of May, so technically it is a May box but still it's cutting it pretty close. This is the same thing that happened for last month's box (GlossyBox Canada April 2012 Review). The only thing I could say about the shipping for GlossyBox is that at least it's consistent about arriving on the last day of the month. As well, they're consistent about not really sending out shipping notification or tracking. The box that packages GlossyBox is still the signature rectangular dark chocolate brown cardboard box with pastel pink GlossyBox logos all over.

Inside packaging:
The lovely smooth and sturdy pastel pink GlossyBox with black logo on the centre of the lid is contained inside the delivery box. The products are wrapped within this pink box with black tissue and sealed with a GlossyBox sticker, all tied up together with a pretty pink ribbon. Love it!

Items inside the box:
  1. GlossyBox card: one side has a GlossyBox message to subscribers and the other side gives a description of all products included in the box
  2. boxx Cosmetics promo card: promotion that includes 25% off entire first order using the promo code BG615. (I'm assuming from their website, though it's not listed on the card)
  3. Curel - Foot Cream (full size 100ml retail: $3.99) - *FULL SIZE*
  4. Simple - Eye Makeup Remover (full size 125ml retail: $9.99) - 56ml SAMPLE (Please note: GlossyBox had incorrectly listed this item on their GlossyBox card as being full size 56ml retail $9.99, in actuality they had mixed it up by printing the sample size with retail price)
  5. Simple - Facial Wash Gel (full size 150ml retail: $9.99) - 50ml SAMPLE (Please note: GlossyBox had incorrectly listed this item on their GlossyBox card as being full size 50ml retail $9.99, in actuality they had mixed it up by printing the sample size with retail price)
  6. boxx Cosmetics - Cream Corrector (full size 4g / 0.14 oz. retail: $24.00) - *FULL SIZE*
  7. Sebastian - Professional Volupt Shampoo (full size 250ml / 8.45 fl .oz. retail: $15.78) - *FULL SIZE*

Ending box packaging:
We've reached the end of the May 2012 GlossyBox! After emptying the box, we can see that the packaging consisted of black tissue paper to wrap the products, pink ribbon to tie it all up, and black crinkle paper strips to cushion everything. While the outside of the box is a smooth pastel pink with black logo, the inside is the reverse with it being black with pink Glossybox logos all over. So pretty!

Overall thoughts:
This May 2012 GlossyBox was pretty good. Had a good mix of products, consisting of makeup, hair and skincare. The Sebastian Professional Volupt Shampoo is an awesome size to be included in the box. I've received a Sebastian product previously from Glossybox (GlossyBox Canada March 2012 Review), so I know that the quality is good. I haven't heard of boxx Cosmetics before so i'm glad I get a chance to try them out. The Curel foot cream came at a perfect time. My feet were dying from dryness and with the summer weather here, I need to take better care of the feet since I love flip flops and sandals. While the Simple products were the only sample size products included in this May box, it's a really good size for travel.

The only thing I was a little disappointed about with GlossyBox Canada this month was that I was sort of hoping for my missing product from the GlossyBox Canada April 2012 box to be included in this May box. While there was the issue of the opened product that was supposed to be a "sealed" product, that wasn't so much the main issue. Right after I received this May 2012 box and noticed that GlossyBox still hadn't resolved my missing product issue, I was forced to email them again. This time, they were quick to respond, where they apologized and confirmed that either the missing product or substitute product will be included in my upcoming June 2012 box. Hopefully, everything will work out this time around. Good news is that at least they do acknowledge problems and try to fix them, even if it might take a bit of time and effort.

    1. Hey Sam!
Yes, I am quite ashamed to admit that I had taken a little bit of hiatus from blogging. I know SO LAZY! Though one of my wrist hurt too, I think I have bad ergonomics at work, home or somewhere. It's hard to type one handed. The main reason was that It did just keep building up that I just didn't know what to do. On the bright side, the boxes that were piling up did make quite a pretty picture though =)

  2. did you stop receiving boxes!? come back!!! =D

    1. LOL. Fortunately no, I did not stop receiving boxes. Like I replied to Samantha just now, the boxes have just been piling up. Although the surprise of what's in them was killing me, I just couldn't bring myself to cracking them open and blogging about them. So bad, I know! I'm totally back in it right now though, procrastinating so does not help. Unfortunately, had to learn it the hard way. =(
